The WPIAL Track and Field Championships were held at Slippery Rock University Wednesday. Butler’s Aubrey Rock won two WPIAL titles with wins in the Pole Vault and Long Jump. Rock was also part of the girls 4×100 Relay team that broke a Butler school record. Her teammates were Riley Blystone, Riley Jack and Jocie Slesinski. The Boys 4×400 Relay Team of Regan Peth, Aaron Stebick, Jace Gratzmiller and Carter Ekas broke the WPIAL record with a time of 3:17.40. The 4X100 team also won and just missed setting a WPIAL record. Nico Baggetta was a runner-up in the Javelin and Aaron Stebick was a runner-up in the 400 behind Gavin Skarbek of Seneca Valley.
Dakari Payne of Seneca Valley won the boys High Jump. Jordan Montleone won the girls High Jump. The Seneca Valley girls also won the 400 Relay.
In the Double-A meet: North Catholic’s Audra Lazzara won the 100 Hurdles and the 400 Relay. Freeport’s Mackenzie Magnuss won the Pole Vault.
The state championships will be held next weekend.
