Sleep Token’s 2023 album Take Me Back To Eden has been certified platinum in the United States, representing one million equivalent units sold. The achievement is notably rare in hard rock and metal, with Metallica’s 2016 Hardwired… To Self-Destruct being the last metal album to reach that milestone. The record also marks Spinefarm Records’ first-ever platinum certification. The album accumulated over 2 billion global streams and ranked as Spotify’s most-streamed metal album in 2023, propelling the band’s monthly listeners from roughly 300,000 to over 1.5 million. Sleep Token has since signed to RCA Records, releasing Even in Arcadia in 2025, which has already earned a gold certification. An instrumental vinyl edition of Even in Arcadia arrives August 7th. Korn frontman Jonathan Davis married Brittany Parisi on July 3rd at the Neighborhood Church Of Palos Verdes in Palos Verdes Estates, California. Around 80 guests attended, including all current Korn members. Davis proposed to Parisi last year while on tour, kneeling before Sandro Botticelli’s masterpieces “The Birth Of Venus” at Florence’s Uffizi Gallery. The iconic painting served as the wedding’s central theme. Chef Celestino Drago prepared a five-course Italian dinner, while bagpipe veteran Aaron Shaw performed throughout the evening. The couple shared their first dance to Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful.” Parisi told People she has “always been obsessed” with her Italian heritage. The wedding notably fell on the same date as Taylor Swift’s nuptials with Travis Kelce. Story URL
Jon Bon Jovi ended his Madison Square Garden concert after just 90 minutes Thursday night, citing a sinus infection. Before leaving the stage, he hugged his bandmates and gave fans a thumbs up. “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out,” he told the crowd, promising to reschedule. A band spokesperson confirmed the sinus infection caused the early exit, adding that updated information would be available soon. The show is part of Bon Jovi’s Forever tour, the band’s return to the road after a four-year break. Bon Jovi previously underwent vocal cord surgery, saying in June, “I’m fully recovered. It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right.” Story URL
The Beach Boys have canceled nearly 30 summer concert dates, allowing 85-year-old frontman Mike Love time to recover. The cancellations follow a string of Pet Sounds 60th anniversary shows, along with reports of Love struggling onstage. “To keep the good vibrations going strong, we’ll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September,” read a statement on Love’s Instagram. Slate critic Luke Winkie described Love at a May show as looking “sallow and enfeebled,” his voice “reduced to a whisper.” Love is now the last classic-era Beach Boy touring, following Bruce Johnston’s retirement earlier this year. The group is scheduled to return September 24th in Springfield, Massachusetts, with Al Jardine’s Pet Sounds Band filling select canceled dates. Story URL
