The Pitt women’s volleyball team was ranked No. 4 in the country in the AVCA Division I preseason poll that was released Monday. The Panthers were the highest ranked Atlantic Coast Conference school. It marks the fourth straight year in which the Panthers are ranked in the top five to open the season. Nebraska enters the season ranked No. 1 in the country with 57 of the 63 first-place votes. Texas is ranked second, followed by Kentucky. Penn State is ranked 10th.
Pitt will open the 2026 regular season later this month (August 23) in Milwaukee at the AVCA First Serve Showcase Milwaukee against third-ranked Kentucky. The Panthers will then host No. 15 Kansas and No. 6 Wisconsin as part of the Opening Spike Classic on August 28th thru 30th at the Petersen Events Center.
Past national player of the year Olivia Babcock is entering her senior season at Pitt.
