The Slippery Rock University women’s soccer team was voted to repeat as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division champions in the preseason coaches’ poll.

The Rock tallied five first-place votes, narrowly edging out Gannon University, who slots in second with the other four first-place votes. Indiana University (Pa.) was voted third.
The Rock has five Butler County women currently on their roster. The Rock went 12-4-1 and won the PSAC-West last season, after opening the season with two consecutive losses. Last year saw the return of their long-time veteran head coach Noreen Herlihy to the program. She is 23rd all-time on the national wins-list with 317. In her return to The Rock last year, she earned PSAC-West Coach of the year honors for the fourth time in her career at Slippery Rock, and fifth time overall.
The Butler County players include freshman arrivals from Freeport, Seneca Valley and two from the Butler program. Senior Lindsey Price is a mid-fielder from Zelienople and The Rock also has two top seniors from North Allegheny.
