The Pittsburgh Penguins opened their pre-season last night with a 4-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena. Bryan Rust, Elmer Soderblom, Avery Hayes and Connor Dewar scored goals for the Pens. Sergei Murashov stopped all 13 shots he faced in net for the Penguins. Joel Blomqvist stopped 10 of 11 shots.
The Penguins host the Detroit Red Wings tonight at 7pm.
Scheduled to be on the ice tonight are veterans Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
