Poison frontman Bret Michaels has announced his first shows since doctors forced him off the road earlier this year. Michaels underwent kidney stone surgery in June and had a ureteral stent placed before attempting one final show August 21st in Sugar Hill, Georgia. Doctors then ordered a full stop. “We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being,” his physicians stated, citing rest, recovery, and concerns over heat’s effect on his blood sugar levels. Michaels, who has lived with Type 1 diabetes since childhood, dubbed the new run his “Road to Recovery Tour.” Shows kick off October 16th in Portage, Indiana, spanning through November 29th in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. A MAGA-affiliated festival in Kentucky has been canceled just days before its scheduled start after selling only six VIP tickets. Organizer Eric Deters announced the cancellation of the Patriots Day Freedom Fest, which was set to begin September 26th in Morning View, Kentucky. The event featured a unique model — free general admission with $1,000 VIP tickets — but Deters failed to secure enough sales from his own network. Apple has unveiled a brand-new live music venue inside London’s historic Battersea Power Station — the same building immortalized on Pink Floyd’s 1977 album Animals. Apple Music Hall holds 600 guests and features a 38-foot wide stage, a 48-speaker spatial audio system, and capacity for 16 or more cameras for filming. The space can host performances both traditional and in-the-round, with livestreaming planned for remote audiences. The venue officially opens September 28th. The MTV Video Music Awards will honor the late George Michael this Sunday, marking a decade since his Christmas Day 2016 passing. Raye, Sombr, and Teddy Swims will perform the tribute, with Adam Blackstone serving as musical director. Raye, nominated for Song of the Year for “Where Is My Husband!,” will also make her solo VMAs debut. Sombr returns to the VMAs stage, while Swims appears for the first time since 2024. Michael sold over 100 million records during his career and earned 16 MTV VMAs and EMAs combined, winning four total. He received the Video Vanguard lifetime achievement award in 1989. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has made chart history, becoming the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with its 23rd week at the top. The milestone surpasses Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which held 22 weeks at No. 1.
