Judas Priest have announced the retirement of founding bassist Ian Hill after 57 years with the band. The 74-year-old cited advanced arthritis in both shoulders, his right hand, and knees as the primary reason for stepping down. Hill also suffered a snapped tendon during a Brussels show, forcing him to miss the band’s London concert. In a personal statement, Hill said: “I hate to say it, but that time has come.” He will be replaced by Davey Rimmer, bassist for both Uriah Heep and Elegant Weapons. The band called Hill “the backbone of Judas Priest,” wishing him well in retirement. Hill, who joined the band in 1970, has appeared on every studio album. Judas Priest have European festival dates booked for Summer 2027. Story URL

Frank Carter had a man ejected from a Sex Pistols concert in Denver, Colorado after the attendee objected to a women-only mosh pit. The incident occurred Friday at the Ogden Theatre, as Carter prepared to introduce the dedicated space ahead of the song ‘No Feelings.’ Carter confronted the man directly, saying: “It’s not your lived experience, so just shut the fu-k up!” Security removed the concertgoer after repeated interruptions. Carter later posted on Instagram, warning that men offended by the initiative are “part of the problem.” He also clarified the space is trans-inclusive, designed for those who don’t feel safe from “physical, sexual or psychological violence” in regular pits. Carter has maintained this practice for years, calling it “the happiest mosh pit you’ve ever seen.” Story URL

The Beach Boys performed their first public concert in three months Saturday night at Cincinnati’s PNC Pavilion, with a visibly frail Mike Love appearing in a chair for the entire show. John Stamos introduced Love, telling the crowd: “He’s been going through some health issues… but he would not miss tonight.” Love previously attributed his declining condition to grief over losing his sister Maureen and an ongoing battle with bronchitis and COVID. Bandmates traded lead vocals throughout the night, with Love contributing only background vocals. The band has canceled numerous shows in recent months due to vague “unforeseen circumstances.” Story URL
