High School Football Playoffs tonight:
–Karns City and Central Clarion meet in the District 9 Class 2A championship game. Kick-off is 7pm at Brookville high school.
–Freeport will host West Mifflin in the WPIAL Class 3A First Round. Kick-off is 7pm.
–North Catholic will meet Beaver, also in the Class 3A First Round. Kick-off is 7pm at Mars high school.
College Football Saturday:
–The #6-ranked Slippery Rock University football team will host Edinboro for a 4pm kick-off. It is their annual “Salute to Military and First Responders” game and also their senior day. Hear the game on The Rock Station beginning with the Coach Shawn Lutz Show at 3:30pm.
The Rock will host the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship game next Saturday afternoon. At the moment, it appears East Stoudsburg will be the PSAC-East opponent – but ESU still needs a win at Millersville tomorrow to lock that up. The Bloomsburg at Kutztown game will be important should ESU become an upset victim.
–Grove City will host Case Western Reserve for a 1pm kick-off.
–Westminster travels to Thiel at 1pm.
–Pitt is idle this week.
–Penn State will visit Washington for a 3:30pm kickoff. The Nittany Lions are 4-4 this season. Washington is 5-3 and are 2-1/2 point favorites.
