There’s still time for local conservation projects to apply for state grant money to protect biodiversity.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is accepting applications for grants through their Wild Resource Conservation Program.
This program benefits non-game animals, native plants, and habitat in the areas of species surveys, conservation, and management. Grant priorities this year include surveys of at-risk species, genetic research, and habitat management.
The deadline to submit an application through the DCNR online grant application system is tomorrow (Monday) at 4 p.m.
