J.J. Spaun was the only golfer to survive a difficult golf course and poor weather to shoot under par after the four days of the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club. Spaun used a weather delay to his advantage Sunday afternoon to earn his first major victory when he birdied the final two holes to finish 1-under par. Prior to the better than 90-minute weather delay Sunday, Spaun had bogeyed five of his first six holes at Oakmont and shot a 40 on the first nine holes. Robert MacIntyre was the runner-up at 1-over par.
