The New York Mets took two of three games in their weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates following an 11-1 victory Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. Jared Jones was roughed up for eight earned runs in just three innings. He allowed six hits and walked three. His record fell to 2-4 and his ERA climbed to 5.03.
The Bucs managed just four hits in the game, two of those from Jake Mangum, who hit his third home run of the year.
The Pirates have now lost six of their seven series since the All-Star Break. They head to Miami for a three-game series beginning Tuesday. The Pirates are now 5-1/2 games out of a Wild Card spot in the National League. The Marlins are currently three games behind.
