Monday Night Football:
–Atlanta handed Buffalo their second-straight loss following a 24-14 victory last night. Falcons running back Bijon Robinson matched a career-high while rushing for 170 yards. That total included a career-high 81-yard run for a score. Atlanta improved to 3-2. The Bills fell to 4-2.
–The Chicago Bears hit a game-winning field goal as time expired to defeat the Washington Commanders 25-24. Running back D’Andre Swift ran for 108 yards and led the Bears receivers with another 67 yards and a score. The Bears are now 3-2. The Commanders fell to 3-3, and missed an opportunity to tie Philadelphia for the NFC East lead.
MLB Playoffs:
–The Los Angeles Dodgers took Game 1 of the National League Championship Series following a 2-1 victory last night over the Milwaukee Brewers. Dodgers starter Blake Snell became the first pitcher to face the minimum through eight innings in a postseason game since Don Larsen threw a perfect game in the 1956 World Series. Snell allowed just one hit and struck out 10 batters over his eight innings. The Brewers scored their lone run in the bottom of the ninth. Game 2 is tonight in Milwaukee at 8:08pm. The game will be televised on TBS/TruTV and HBO Max.
–The Seattle Mariners defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 10-3 to take a 2-0 lead in the American League Championship Series. Game 3 moves to Seattle Wednesday.
