Paul McCartney turned down an offer to be roasted on Netflix before producers selected Kevin Hart for the streaming platform’s latest comedy special. Jeff Ross, the “Roastmaster General” and executive producer, confirmed to Variety that McCartney was approached for the project. “We did ask Paul McCartney at one point. To me, that would be a fantasy roast,” Ross said, adding that a McCartney roast “would be good for the world” because “he is so loved.” Netflix sought another superstar following their successful 2024 Tom Brady roast, which earned an Emmy nomination. The company also considered Will Smith as a potential subject. The Roast Of Kevin Hart aired live Sunday from Los Angeles, hosted by Shane Gillis and featuring celebrities including Chelsea Handler, Pete Davidson, and Dwayne Johnson. (Story URL)
Keith Richards has dismissed the possibility of a Rolling Stones tour in 2026, despite the band’s upcoming album Foreign Tongues set for July 10th release. At a New York City album announcement event, Richards told the Associated Press they could “talk next year” about touring but ruled out 2026 entirely. “Not this year anyway,” he stated when asked about tour plans. Mick Jagger expressed more enthusiasm, saying “I absolutely would love to” tour in support of the new record and hopes to do so “as soon as that’s possible.” The Rolling Stones last toured in 2024 supporting their 2023 album Hackney Diamonds. When asked about maintaining his stage energy at 82, Jagger credited fitness and discipline, noting “if you’re my age you have to really work at it” and acknowledged he “can’t do the things I did when I was 21, but I can do other things.” (Story URL)
