Drumming legend Alex Van Halen has been knighted into the Order of the Netherlands Lion, the country’s highest civilian honor, recognizing excellence in sciences, sports, and the arts. The ceremony took place in Nijmegen, the city where Alex and his late brother Eddie Van Halen were raised before relocating to Los Angeles in 1962. Following the ceremony, Van Halen signed the Book of the City, a register of notable visitors. “I think institutions like this are important in people’s lives because it adds a dignity and a gravity to what we do,” Van Halen said. A 24-year-old woman has been charged after stealing and crashing an ambulance parked outside a concert venue in Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred around 11pm on August 27 outside Talking Sticks Amphitheatre and Resort, where Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte were performing. Grace Vicente allegedly entered the unattended ambulance — its keys left inside by paramedics — and drove it a short distance before colliding with another vehicle. Vicente was detained at the scene and charged with DUI and vehicle theft. The driver of the struck car was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Vicente’s attorney told local outlet AZFamily that she had traveled to Arizona specifically for the concert, calling the incident “completely out of her normal nature.” Story URL

The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce spokesperson Ana Martinez confirmed to TMZ that repairs were already planned due to pre-existing cracks. The Hollywood Historic Trust announced on Instagram it is “proud to honor the legacy of Dolly Parton with a replacement of her star,” set to be unveiled this Friday.
