Ozzy Osbourne’s emotional farewell performance will reach the big screen when the concert film Back to the Beginning opens in theaters October 28. Osbourne headlined the massive Birmingham, England event last July, performing a solo set and reuniting with the original Black Sabbath lineup, less than three weeks before his death. Sharon Osbourne said the concert was born from a simple wish: “He wanted to say goodbye and thank you.” The day-long Villa Park stadium show also featured Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, and Pantera, with Tom Morello serving as music director. Metallica is extending its M72 Tour with a new leg of North American stadium dates beginning in the spring of 2027. The run supports their album 72 Seasons, released two years ago. Limp Bizkit and Avatar will serve as opening acts. General public tickets go on sale September 25 at 10 a.m. local time, with presales beginning Monday. The tour kicks off May 8 in Vancouver and wraps June 19 in Salt Lake City, hitting 12 cities including San Diego, Kansas City, and Cleveland. The Heartbreakers will perform together as a full band for the first time since Tom Petty’s death in 2017. Founding members Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Stan Lynch, and Ron Blair will join Chris Stapleton to open the Americana Awards before accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award. Latter-day members Steve Ferrone and Scott Thurston will join at the show’s conclusion. The reunion coincides with the Tom Petty estate’s announcement of a new box set, Origins 1971-1978, releasing November 6. The four-disc or five-LP collection features previously unreleased material and collaborations with Al Kooper and Leon Russell. A preview track, “Parade Out Loons,” is available now. Following the death of country music legend Dolly Parton, the Country Music Association has announced a live two-hour tribute special in her honor. Titled “CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton,” the event airs October 21 on ABC and Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu. The special will feature performances, archival footage, and personal stories. It will be filmed at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville. “Honoring her legacy is not just an opportunity; it is our responsibility,” said CMA CEO Sarah Trahern.
