A long-lost demo of a James Bond theme attempted by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is going up for auction. The 27-year-old cassette recording features Martin performing “The World is Not Enough,” written for the 1999 Pierce Brosnan film but never submitted. Seller Wax Poetics describes it as “unheard and unreleased.” Martin previously admitted to NME in 2021 that Coldplay made multiple Bond theme attempts. “We kept trying to write one for 20 years, but never submitted them,” he said. “We have Bond themes for about five movies, but they’re not very good, to be honest.” The cassette is part of a broader Coldplay archive from producer Chris Allison, predating the band’s breakthrough album Parachutes. A Los Angeles jury found Chris Brown liable Tuesday, ordering him to pay nearly $13 million after his 200-pound dog mauled and disfigured housekeeper Maria Avila at his Tarzana, California home in 2020. Brown’s company, Black Pyramid LLC, owes Avila $12.9 million for negligence. Her sister, Patricia Avila, received $885,000 for emotional distress, and Maria’s husband was awarded $50,000.
