The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 last night, after leading 3-0 entering the third period.
Rookie Ben Kindel scored twice for the Penguins. Erik Karlsson added the other Penguins goal. Goaltender Tristan Jarry stopped 16 of 20 shots. Jarry stopped just eight of 12 shots in the third period. The loss snapped his personal winning streak at four.
The Penguins have now lost two games in a row. They return home for one game Thursday, when they host Washington.
Ben Kindel became the fifth 18-year old player in Penguins franchise history with a multi-goal game, joining Sidney Crosby, Jaromir Jagr, Jordan Staal and Craig Simpson. Kindel scored a power-play goal mid-way through the second period to give the Penguins a 3-0 lead.
Monday marked Jarry’s 300th game with the Penguins. Only Marc-Andre Fleury and Tom Barrasso played more games in black and gold.
