The Seneca Valley boys and girls soccer teams won their First Round matches in the State tournament last night. Both teams defeated McDowell by 2-1 scores. The Raider boys had to win their match in overtime on a goal by Jackson Prex. They will meet Warwick in the state Quarterfinals Saturday.
The Seneca Valley girls will meet Central Bucks East Saturday. Raiders senior forward Cassie Leonard scored the game-winning goal over McDowell.
The WPIAL champion Freeport girls soccer team defeated Fort LeBoeuf 3-1 in their Class 2A First Round match. Camryn Woods led the Yellow Jackets with two goals. Freeport will face Lancaster Catholic in the Quarterfinals Saturday.
The Karns City girls soccer team fell to Sewickley Academy 2-1 in their Class 1A First Round match. Carleigh Lucas scored the lone goal for the Gremlins.
