The Pittsburgh Pirates open a six-game homestand tonight with the first of three games against the division-rival Chicago Cubs. First pitch tonight and Saturday is 6:40pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:15pm. Jared Jones will start for the Pirates. Left-hander Matthew Boyd will start for the Cubs.
The Pirates begin the night with a 53-50 record. They trail Arizona by one game for a Wild Card spot. The Cubs are 57-45 and are the top Wild Card team in the National League.
Paul Skenes is scheduled to start Saturday night’s game for the Bucs.
The Pirates and Cubs complete their series Sunday at 1:35pm. WISR pre-game begins at 12:35pm with the Pirates “Insider Show”. Braxton Ashcraft is slated to start for the Bucs. Former Pirate Jameson Taillon will start for the Cubs.
The Arizona Diamondbacks come to Pittsburgh for three games beginning Monday night.
