Boys Basketball:
–There were two close battles in the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals last night. Top-seeded New Castle held off Central Catholic 52-49, while Upper St. Clair defeated Seneca Valley 42-35. Both winning teams improved to 23-1 overall this season, and will meet in the championship game late Friday night at the Petersen Events Center.
–Tonight – the Moniteau boys will meet Redbank Valley in the District 9 Class 2A semifinals. Tip-off is 7pm at Union high school.
Girls Basketball:
–Oakland Catholic defeated North Catholic 46-29 last night in the Class 4A semifinals. North Catholic will now host Elizabeth Forward in the Third-place Consolation game Wednesday at 7pm.
–Tonight in the Class 6A semifinals – Seneca Valley will meet Canon-McMillan at Mt. Lebanon high school at 6pm.
