Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes now has the lowest ERA in the major leagues after another pitcher in the Cy Young hunt has been shut down. American League Cy Young contender Nathan Eovaldi is likely done for the season with a rotator cuff strain. The Texas starter is 11-3 this season with a career-best 1.73 ERA in 22 starts, but is just short of the innings needed to qualify as the MLB leader. This follows Philadelphia’s Zach Wheeler being shut down because of a blood clot in his pitching arm.
