The Slippery Rock University football team has moved up two spots this week to #11 in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll after their 59-35 win over East Stoudsburg, and had two of their players honored this week by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Running back Jay Jay Jordan was named the PSAC-West Offensive Player of the Week and defensive lineman Elijah Halley (Hay-Lee) was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Jordan rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns last Saturday night in Eastern Pennsylvania. Halley had two sacks, a career high 3-1/2 tackles for a loss, and forced a fumble. It is the second straight game The Rock has had two players honored by the PSAC.
They visit Millersville for a noon kick-off this week.
