The Pittsburgh Steelers completed their preseason last night with a 28-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo earned the victory on a late 2-point conversion after the Steelers had failed on a previous attempt.
Both Will Howard and Drew Allar played each half of the game. Howard threw two touchdown passes and had one pass picked off by western Pennsylvania native Damar Hamlin. The Steelers had their best rushing performance of the preseason, outgaining the Bills 97 to 89 yards. The Steelers end their preseason 1-2.
Following the game, Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy stated he believed all four quarterbacks on the roster had earned spots on the team. McCarthy was excited that the team was able to use their three games to take a look at many of their young players attempting to make the team. 53-man rosters must be finalized by Sunday. night.
Many of the Steelers top veteran players didn’t even make the trip to Buffalo. The Steelers open their season at home against Atlanta Sunday, September 13th.
