As the Turnpike begins the move to open road tolling in the western side of the state, there are some interchanges that will also undergo renovations.
Turnpike officials say Warrendale will be the first interchange to undergo a redesign.
Officials are hoping to eliminate the number of rear-end crashes that happen when drivers hit toll booths.
The project is expected to go out to bid in October and cost in between $10 to $20 million. Once construction begins, the redesign will take up to two years to complete.
