Local residents looking to dispose of leaves have some options depending on the municipality.
Butler Township residents can have bagged leaves collected during four upcoming weeks beginning with next week, October 26th through 30th. Other collections will take place the following three weeks in November the 2nd to the 6th, the 9th through the 13th and the 16th to the 20th. Leaves should be placed at the curb in biodegradable bags that are sold at the Butler Township Municipal Building or other businesses.
Butler City residents should alert the City Streets Department when all of the leaves in a neighborhood have fallen and employees will provide collection service. Otherwise, city residents can dispose of leaves in a designated area at Memorial Park. This area will be clearly marked with signs and is open through the first week of December from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays as well as 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and holidays. Leaves must be removed from plastic bags and no other brush or garbage is permitted to be dumped in the leaf area.
