Two teenagers will face charges in connection with a robbery that occurred in downtown Butler over the weekend.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Butler City Police, a 17-year-old boy from Butler has been charged with felony robbery and felony criminal conspiracy while a 16-year-old boy from Pittsburgh has been charged with felony robbery.
Officers were called out Saturday night shortly after 10 p.m. for an armed robbery at the A Plus gas station on West Jefferson Street. While investigating the incident, officers observed a male in dark clothing on North Chestnut Street try to run away.
The male was caught and found to be in possession of over $400 in cash. He was identified by video surveillance as having participated in the robbery. The other teenager was brought to the station by his mom who told police that he confessed involvement with the robbery to her.
