There is still time for local women veterans to join in a free event this weekend planned by the Butler VA Health Care System.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the VA is holding a Women Veterans Summer Picnic at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center in Slippery Rock.
Women veterans and their families will have the chance to enjoy a picnic style event along with music, activities, and interaction with some of the horses. Butler VA staff will be on hand to present information about VA services and programs.
Women Veterans Day is June 12th which marks the anniversary of the signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948. Call 878-271-6492 to RSVP or for more information.
