A Butler man has been placed in the Butler County Prison after it’s alleged he hit his child for not eating dinner.
Charging documents accuse 31-year-old Russell Digiacomo of striking a 4-year-old child after its alleged the child wouldn’t eat their dinner.
The alleged assault happened on Sunday and Saxonburg Police were called to the Summit Township home for a welfare check on Tuesday.
When police arrived the child’s, mother accused Digiacomo of hitting the child. She also showed officers pictures she had taken the morning after the alleged assault showing the redness on the child’s face.
She was not home when the assault happened and the child was asleep when she returned that night.
Digiacomo has been charged with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail and has a June 24 preliminary hearing.
