The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has proposed a tariff for large load customers at a public meeting earlier this week.
The tariff is being proposed due to the growing number of data centers being built across Pennsylvania.
Before officially implemented, the proposal has to pass a review, hearings, and multiple rounds of public comment from several different stakeholders.
The PUC said this policy will help ensure power grid reliability for new and existing customers and preventing shifting the cost of new infrastructure to current rate payers.
More information on the policy and next steps can be found on the PUC website.
