Governor Josh Shapiro and Department of Agriculture leaders are calling on the federal government to help farmers who dealt with a freeze that harmed crops.
Shapiro said an April freeze resulted in widespread crop damage across the state. The Agriculture Department is continuing to assess the damage and looking at making additional funds available.
Shapiro also called on the federal government to “cut through delays and expedite the disaster declaration.” This would allow crop insurance support.
