Mick Jagger says he “can’t wait” to tour again with The Rolling Stones, though not this year. Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s Tracks of My Years with Ronnie Wood, Jagger expressed enthusiasm for returning to the road “hopefully as soon as possible.” The band cancelled their planned 2026 U.K. and European stadium tour in late 2025, with reports suggesting Keith Richards couldn’t commit to the dates. Richards previously hinted at a possible 2027 return. Jagger’s comments come ahead of the band’s 25th studio album Foreign Tongues, releasing July 10th. The record was completed in under a month at Metropolis Studios with producer Andrew Watt and features Paul McCartney, The Cure’s Robert Smith, Steve Winwood, and the late Charlie Watts. Their previous album Hackney Diamonds reached No. 3 on Billboard 200 in 2024. (Story URL)
Metallica set another attendance record Saturday night at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, drawing over 94,000 fans during their M72 World Tour performance on May 30th. This surpassed U2’s previous 2009 record of 90,000 attendees at the same venue. The circular, in-the-round stage design likely enabled the record-breaking capacity at the renovated stadium, which normally seats 74,475. Metallica’s 16-song setlist opened with “Creeping Death” and closed with “Enter Sandman.” The M72 tour previously broke attendance records in Los Angeles, surpassing Taylor Swift’s SoFi Stadium numbers with 78,000 fans per show, and in Athens, Greece with over 90,000 attendees. The European leg continues through July before returning to Las Vegas for The Sphere residency beginning October 1st. (Story URL)
