An Ellwood City man is facing charges in Muddy Creek Township after allegedly attempting to break into a home and steal tools.
On Tuesday, officers were called to a home on the 100 block of Moraine Drive for an active burglary.
When officers arrived on scene, the victim accused 37-year-old Michael Roth of banging on a window at their home before kicking in the front door.
The victim allegedly pushed Roth out of the home before Roth punched the victim in the face. Allegedly, Roth attempted to break-into the home over tools.
Roth is also accused of breaking a side mirror on the victim’s truck. Roth has been charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, and simple assault.
He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $40,000 bond as Roth awaits a June 10 preliminary hearing.
