A portion of a busy road in Center Township has been closed as a result of a tree and power lines on the road.
A call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 2 p.m. for high tension power lines on Route 8 North near the Belmont II.
Crews from Unionville were among those responding to the scene and requested both the power company and PennDOT for assistance.
Route 8 has been closed between South Benbrook and Mercer Road with motorists instructed to avoid the area if possible for an extended amount of time.
