Officials are reminding residents who are planning on beginning a digging project that the first step is calling 8-1-1.
Tuesday marks National 8-1-1 Day (8/11), and the PA Public Utility Commission is using this opportunity to repeat the requirement for everyone planning a construction or excavation project to call 811 between 3 and 10 days prior to digging.
Residents can also visit the pa1call.org website. Center employees then take the project information and notify any utilities with underground lines in that area who will mark the specific location at the site.
