A Harmony man was placed in the Butler County Prison after being accused of breaking into a police officer’s Zelienople home.
The alleged incident happened Saturday when the officer’s wife called the officer directly to report an intruder on the 300 block of Walnut Street.
When the officer arrived on scene, 32-year-old Tyler Mitro was on the back porch refusing to leave.
According to charging documents, Mitro was slurring his speech, had glassy eyes, and had a strong odor of alcohol. Mitro did not answer any of the officer’s question due to the alleged intoxication.
Along with a summary offense of public drunkenness, Mitro was charged with criminal trespassing and burglary.
His bail was at $25,000 and a preliminary hearing has been set scheduled for September 30.
