A newly proposed bill would look to keep homes affordable, but keep corporations from owning single family residences (SFRs).
The bill would ban corporations from placing bids on a home until it has been listed for sale for 90 days. Oregon has enacted a similar law in hopes of making it easier for families to buy homes.
According to a study from the University of Pittsburgh, national corporations own more than 900 parcels of land in Allegheny County.
The bill has been introduced to the state house Housing & Community Development Committee.
