After an investigation into a farm in Franklin Township nearly 150 animals were rescued from poor living conditions.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, the farm located on Country Club Road had four dogs, two cats, and over 100 rabbits removed the property.
Assisted by State Troopers, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) had gotten reports of multiple dead rabbits on the property. PDA is testing for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease.
Some of the rabbits found were deceased but no word on how many and they were voluntarily surrendered by their owner.
An Erie shelter was called to help assist in taking care of the animals and are looking to have the animals adopted.
No charges have been filled but the investigation is ongoing.
