Nurses at Butler Memorial Hospital have voted to authorize a strike.
The union has been in contract negotiations with the hospital for months, but have not reached an agreement. They are currently working without a contract.
Around 85 percent of union members voted and it was a near unanimous decision to strike.
The nurses must give the hospital a 10-day strike notice.
According to union officials, the hospital is asking for too much in concessions and nurses also cite safety in healthcare settings as an issue.
