Butler City is entering into a couple of agreements with a consultant to gather information about housing as well as update the employee handbook.
The first agreement with Adam Hartwig in an amount not to exceed $16,500 is to undertake a comprehensive housing study and recommend a corresponding economic impact incentive program. This will involve about 250 hours of meetings with a variety of stakeholders in the Butler community including the school district and financial institutions.
The second agreement to review and update the employee handbook in an amount not to exceed $10,500 is also with Adam Hartwig. This would not include fire or police regulations but instead focus on developing standard operating procedures for key municipal functions.
Adam Hartwig is a former municipal manager who also spent time with organizations like the Alliance for Non-Profit Resources and is now a consultant. Hartwig will work on both tasks at the same time and expects to present a report on his finding to Council before the new year.
