A large group of cyclists participating in a charity fundraiser are expected to move through Butler County this weekend.
According to the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, the Foster 100 Oil to Iron ride will begin in Oil City Saturday morning and end at the University of Pittsburgh.
A 15 minute rest stop is planned for the North Washington Rodeo Arena around 11:15 a.m. followed by another 15 minute rest stop around 2 p.m. at the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Carnival Grounds. The public is invited to cheer them along their route and motorists are asked to be cautious when sharing the road with cyclists.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to obtain, train, and provide service dogs to injured and disabled veterans at no cost to the veteran. This effort is supported locally by Butler AM Rotary and the Saxonburg Rotary.
