
Gas prices have been dropping both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased to $3.57 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by seven cents to reach $3.51. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Erie at $3.31, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.70.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to $3.13. This is six cents lower than a month ago and 48 cents less than this time last year. Demand for gas and the price of a barrel of crude oil both decreased slightly.
