The Honda Motor Company has issued a safety recall for a large number of vehicles in the United States.
The recall is for nearly 260,000 2023 to 2025 Honda Pilots as well as certain Acura cars for a brake pedal that could shift out of position.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the brake pedal pivot pin in about 1% of vehicles was not secured properly during production which could increase the risk of crash. No crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of this issue but three warranty claims have been received since February of last year.
Owner notifications will begin next month and authorized dealers will inspect vehicles covered by the recall, replacing the assembly free of charge if necessary. More information is available through the NHTSA website or Honda’s recall website.
