A local man who is serving overseas is asking for help after citing an issue in voting.
According to county leaders, the man is on active-duty but has limited access to mail. Election officials say a ballot can be emailed to a military member, but must be returned in paper form.
The service member says he’ll have trouble getting a ballot returned in time.
Local officials are encouraging him to reach out to state legislators to ask for a change in the law to better accommodate those in his situation.
As of now, military ballots can be accepted seven days past the 8 p.m. Election Day deadline.
