A longtime local teacher and educator at the Butler Area School District has died.
James Neutrelle died earlier this week at the age of 84.
Neutrelle taught English at the Butler Junior High School for 39 years beginning in 1963 and was also the director of the Butler All School Musicals beginning in 1986.
After retiring from Butler, Neutrelle worked as an adjunct professor at LaRoche University for 20 years, including starting a theater program. Outside of school, he was very active with volunteering at the Community Health Clinic and Katie’s Kitchen.
Visitation and a blessing service will be held on Saturday at Boylan Funeral Home in Connoquenessing.
