A former longtime Butler Township Commissioner has died.
Joe Hasychak passed away Saturday.
Hasychak was a 1958 graduate of Butler Area School District before joining the United States Navy.
After graduating from Robert Morris in 1978, Hasychak would work for Heckett Engineering. He served as Butler Township Commissioner for 32 years, as well as being on the Board for the Butler County Blind Association and the Butler Transit Authority.
Hasychak was also a member of the Butler / Victory Lodge No. 272 and the American Legion Post #778 in Lyndora.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Thompson Miller Funeral Home.
Hasychak was 85 years old.
