A man who was involved in a serious crash in Penn Township last week is now recovering, but the family is looking to the community for help.
The accident happened last Friday morning when 45-year-old Shannon Ace of Karns City was driving south on Route 8 near Hicks Road. Police say Ace saw a tree on the road and tried to avoid it. However, his Jeep Wrangler went over the hillside and into the embankment.
Ace was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, where he remains in the ICU recovering. His family says Ace suffered a broken neck, back, ribs and more. He’s already undergone multiple surgeries.
The family has set up a GoFundMe for Ace, who is a father of three daughters.
Ace is expected to recover, but his family says it will be a slow process.
