Karns City quarterback Mason Martin has been diagnosed with meningitis and is now in the ICU.
Mason’s father posted the update on his Facebook page, saying that Mason was showing signs of an infection this past week at UPMC Mercy. After testing, he was diagnosed with meningitis.
Mason is now back at UPMC Presby. His father says that doctors plan to have the shunt removed until the meningitis clears, and then it will be put back in place.
His father says Mason is a fighter and continues to ask for prayers from the community.
