At least one person was seriously injured as a result of an explosion in Muddy Creek Township Wednesday afternoon.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for an explosion and smoke in the 200 block of Sawyer Road.
Crews from Portersville, Prospect, and Slippery Rock were among those responding to find a male with burns and a STAT MedEvac helicopter was dispatched to the Portersville station. A second ambulance was also called to treat a female with lacerations.
The resident at that address reportedly has a history of making homemade explosives. An investigation by State Police is ongoing.
