Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett once offered to return a rare guitar to Journey’s Neal Schon after feeling he underpaid for it. Hammett purchased the 1957 black Les Paul Standard at a 2021 auction for $87,500, roughly half its estimated value. “I felt kind of bad about it because I should have paid a fair price,” Hammett said at a recent fan event in Ireland. He later called Schon directly and offered to return the instrument. Schon declined, telling him, “No, man, you keep it. You buy it, you keep it.” Hammett praised Schon as “such a cool, cool guy” and a major inspiration. The post-pandemic auction market was widely volatile at the time, with many items selling well below anticipated prices. Source
Sharon Osbourne marked what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary with Ozzy Osbourne on July 4th, sharing an emotional tribute on Instagram. Forever my heart.” Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025, at age 76, following a battle with Parkinson’s disease — just 17 days after headlining a farewell concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham. The couple married in Hawaii on July 4, 1982, and raised three children together. Following his death, Ozzy’s music surged on the Billboard charts, with “Crazy Train” debuting on the Hot 100 at No. 46 and his compilation hitting No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Source
On the one-year anniversary of their first reunion show, Oasis has dropped a 45-second teaser for their upcoming documentary, Don’t Look Back in Anger. The clip features footage of roaring crowds and hints at rehearsal scenes, with both Noel and Liam Gallagher reflecting on their unlikely comeback. “I just don’t see myself onstage with Liam, I just don’t see it,” Noel says in voiceover. Created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the film promises the first joint Gallagher interviews in over 20 years. Knight described it as “a backstage pass” to their historic reconciliation. The documentary opens in IMAX and cinemas this September before streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Source
