The National Weather Service is confirming that two tornadoes touched down in Butler County Sunday night.
Officials surveyed the county earlier this morning and found one tornado did hit the north shore of Moraine State Park and was rated as an EF1—meaning wind gusts were between 86 and 110 miles per hour.
They confirmed another tornado along Muddy Creek Drive at the intersection with Route 8—that was named an EF0.
These are the first tornadoes in the county since May 21st of last year, when two EF0s hit.
The National Weather Service says they will release more information on the storms later today or tomorrow.
